Causes of infertility

Infertility or suspected infertility [by definition of the World Health Organization (WHO)] means, that if a couple does not achieve a pregnancy, in spite of regular sexual intercourse within one year. The presentation in sterility consultation usually takes place on the advice or referred by your gynecologist or, increasingly, on the own initiative of the patients who receive through the media or internet knowledge about the treatment centers in their region.
To clarify the causes of infertility, the doctor, after a detailed medical history, usually starts  a basal hormone determination for both partners. Is no hormonal abnormity detected, a monitoring can help to carry out a simple control of the female cycle and ovulation. This is the easiest, most cost-and time-saving method of treatment. By  Follikulometrie ( as a periodic monitoring of follicular development via ultrasound) and hormone determination (progesterone, estradiol and progesterone in the blood), the course of the cycle is controlled and the date of intercourse to the optimum time (VZO ) can be determined. This method is mainly used for light,for example, stress caused  menstrual disorders of women, having a husband with a normal semen analysis.
